National Service Scheme (NSS) is a widely recognized and influential youth-centric program in colleges across the country. NSS was established in 1969, the year Mahatma Gandhi celebrated his birth, with the primary goal of fostering the character and personality of student youth via volunteer community service. The ideals of Mahatma Gandhi provide inspiration for the NSS’s ideological stance. “NOT ME, BUT YOU” is the NSS motto.
NSS unit of the college enrolls selected volunteers for two NSS units. These volunteers are exposed to the ideology of service to the society is service to God, “Dignity of Labour.”The students are stimulated by the college through the execution of NSS programme to work in unity for productive social work to enhance awarness of sanitation and cleanliness, to solve community problems, to self employment and to strengthen national integration.
