The college is organising The A.D. Shroff Memorial Elocution Competition every year. Incharge Dr. Sejal Patel, Department of Economics organized the 56th A.D.Shroff Memorial Elocution Competition on 28th September 2022, from 10:00 a.m. onwards. The Forum of Free Enterprise. Mumbai a non-political and nonpartisan organization started in 1956, seeks to stimulate public thinking on vital economic problems through booklets, leaflets, meetings, essay competitions etc. The Elocution competition on the subject related to Economics is organized every year since. The main intention of the competition is to motivate students to take active interest in different subjects related to economics. The Forum of Free Enterprise encourages this annual elocution competition and also sponsors the cash prizes and certificates for the same.
The topics for the elocution competition given by the Forum of Free Enterprise were: “Managing the Economy during a Pandemic”,“Making India a $5 trillion Economy by 2027 (80 Years of Independence)”, “The Changing Role of International Finance in Developing Economies” and “The Menace of Increasing Cyber Crimes and Solution”. The Principal Dr. V. M. Vanar then addressed the gathering. He also highlighted the role of Forum of Free Enterprise and encouraged the audience to learn more about the Forum. Dr. Sejal Patel
appreciated the importance of elocution competitions as the popularity of such competitions among students is declining. A panel of three judges from the College namely Dr. A.K. Yagnik, Associate Professor in English, ACC, Prof. Mr. D. B. Trivedi, Associate Professor in Commerce and Management, ACC and Dr. Ruchita M. Patel, Assistant Professor in Commerce and Management, AIBS
judged the competition based on content, presentation and elocution and give their valuable opinions regarding performance of the students.
