Establishment of committee for SC/ST (as per the scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989, No. 33 Of 1989, dated 11.09.1989)
The SC/ST committee of the Anand Commerce College was established with the purpose to empower the SC/ST students in the college.


Vision:

To promote social justice and human rights to prevent apartheid, cast discrimination, gender discrimination and unfair treatment so that every citizen of the society can lead a life with dignity and equality.


Mission:

The mission of SC/ST committee is to promote their academic and psychological well-being for their career enrichment.

Obiectives of the committee:

SC/ST committee has been constituted in the institute to resolve all the affairs and problems related to the SC/ST officers, Employees and students of the institute. Following are the important work under SC/ST committee:


  • To advise SC/ST employees as well as students regarding academic and personal difficulties associated with college life.
  • Immediate counseling for emotional crisis arising out of events happening on college campus.
  • To create an environment in the college where such students feel safe.
  • To make SC/ST students aware about the various scholarships offered by the state government and UGC.
  • To provide career guidance opportunities to such students.
  • To comply with the provisions issued by UGC and Government.

Activities done by the committee:

  • SC/ST students were informed about various scholarships released by Government and UGC.
  • Career counseling of SC/ST students is done through seminars/workshop.
  • To make SC/ST students aware of the provisions in the Constitution and as issued by the govenunent from time to time.
